I've had a lot of experience with these gears and I've noticed all the minute improvements ZCI has made over time. I can say confidently that these are decent gears for sure, but they are certainly flawed. First off, the bevel gear is completely useless. The lower teeth are far too thin to work on any build that would warrant a 13:1 set for any amount of time and as a result they strip strip and break just like most SHS bevels. Nothing too surprising there, I'm sure we've all come to expect that. The spur is easily the best of the set being CNC machined, well coated and very beefy in design. The sector, however, is where the problems become painfully apparent. The ZCI sectors and made with a PIM upper and CNC'd lower, much like the Prommy design that SHS used as their base for years. The MIM/PIM upper works fine and holds up well, but the problem is the gear shaft. The shafts on the sectors can snap like twigs when under even a small amount of stress if your tuning isn't 100% perfect, but even then, they will snap eventually. The longest lasting set I had lasted roughly a year in a 22TPA, M130 setup and had the exact same failure as all the sets I've come across. That problem being the shaft plus the small disc supporting it simply snapping off the top half of the sector, effectively cutting the axle in half. If they could solve this problem, I could safely recommend these gears to anyone, but until then. these get an optimistic 3/5 and a recommendation only to techs who don't expect longevity out of these or those who have the ability to swap the lower and upper halves or shafts of the sector.
